Section IX. MICROSCOPE, TELESCOPE, AND RETICLE MIRROR
101. General
The microscope is used to bring the horizontal,
vertical, and micrometer circle scales into proper focus.
The microscope eyepiece is knurled to assist the
operator in making this adjustment.  The telescope
provides a means of .sighting and bringing into focus
the objective or target. The eyepiece is used to bring
the reticle crosslines into view.  The focusing tube is
used to bring the objective into focus.  The reticle
mirror, located in the telescope tube, is provided to
illuminate the reticle crosslines when the electrical
illumination system is utilized.
