PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT OR LIMITED STORAGE
NOTE
Limited storage is that storage which does not exceed six
months.

( 1 ) I n s p e c t B a t h U n i t f o r c o n d i t i o n s s u c h a s d i r t , o i l , c o r r o s i o n,
missing items, and any signs of damage.
( 2 ) P e r f o r m i n s p e c t i o n p r o c e d u r e s i n t h e o r g a n i z a t i o n a l p r e v e n t i ve
maintenance checks and services (PMCS), table 4-1.

Draining and Dismantling.

(2) Drain water from heater, water pump, and hoses (see paragraph
2 - 1 1 ).
(3) Dismantle the Bath Unit according to the procedures in paragraph
2 - 1 2.

Cleaning and Drying.
Remove all contamination from components of Bath
Unit by an approved method.
Approved methods of cleaning and drying,
the types of perservatives to be used, and the methods of applying the
preservatives are described in TM 38-230.
d.
Seal Openings.
Seal ends of all hose assemblies and all openings on
h e a t e r,
water pump, and power source with pressure - sensitive tape
c o n f o r m i n g t o s p e c i f i c a t i o n ( 1 1 , A p p e n d i x E ).

PREPARATION FOR REGUALR STORAGE
NOTE
Regular storage is that storage which exceeds six months.
Preservation will be accomplished in a sequence that will not require operation
of components preserved in paragraph 4-15 above.
Perform procedures in
paragraphs 4-15a and 4-15b.
