DR-8 REEL WITH RL-39 REEL ASSEMBLY.
A standard Army DR-8 reel and a standard RL-39 reel asssembly are used. The reel assembly consists of a
winding device and carrying straps. The carrying straps are adjustable. A new reel of tape can be inserted by
removing the cotter pin and then the handle of the winding device. The new reel is then inserted in the winding
device. The handle of the winding device is inserted through the winding device and reel and the cotter pin is then
reinserted.
